ROLE

Its acts as a link between the legislative assemblies and the executive arm of the governement. It faciliates in providing the much needed information from the legislatures harmonizes the relationship between the two arms of the government.

The directorate's role is more pronounced at the moment through its capacity building activities in the sate legislative assemblies with focus on democratic ideals and parliamentary practices

FUNTIONS

1. Processing queries, questions and directives from SSLAfor deliberations by the cabinet

2. Consulting and coordinating with all political parties and parliamentary blocks in SSLA

3. Recommend appointments of SSLA members to GoSS standing committes

4. Capacitybuilding forlegislative assemblies targeting both adminstartive and political wings

5. Following-up implementation of SSLA resolutions to enhance multi-party democracy,good governance, efficient and equitable federal system.
