Parliamentary Affairs Under Secretary returns from Malakal |

Dr. Julia A. Duany, the Under Secretary in the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs returns Friday evening from Malakal where she made a 3 days visit to the state of Upper Nile state. The visit came after a 100 days decreed by the president, and also to access the progress of the state library which has been undergoing construction with intention to finalize it. the visit draw a lot of praise from the state executives including the governor and the legislative body. As part and package of the tour she also met minister for Parliamentary Affairs in the Upper Nile state who warmly welcome the visiting team, and also briefed her on the state of the library in present of the contractors.
In time with the visit she was met with the official opening of Upper Nile State Assembly August House on 21/09.2011 by the governor. The Governor, Hon. Kun Puoch applauded the visit describing it as "first and at the right time". The governor talked in length and particularly, the need for government to win the trust of its citizen by ensuring security and good governance. In his speech, he stressed that his government has been committed to do what he promised to do in Upper Nile State in the interest of people. In his speech which read "I personally have been very enthusiastic about our peaceful consensus on matters important to our citizens which could notĀ be achieved without our commitment as servants elected to preserveĀ a unified community of the people of upper Nile", he said.
